Escape the January Blues at Vivat BacchusEnjoy our Ostrich Steak and a glass of Pinotage for just £30

Whilst the world bombards you with the same New Year diet myths, we're here to help you escape and break free from this gloomy January narrative! At our South African haven, we believe in embracing a healthy lifestyle without sacrificing what brings you joy.

Introducing our January offer – a high-protein, lean ostrich steak, a culinary gem from our South African roots, perfectly matched with a glass of Pinotage, all for just £30. Revel in the joy of trying something new, whilst opting for a dish that's not only lower in calories, saturated fat, and cholesterol than chicken but also packs a punch of potassium, selenium, Vitamin B, and iron.

Beyond its health benefits, our ostrich steak boasts some strong sustainability credentials. Raised on grains and plants, ostrich requires less water than conventional livestock, producing minimal waste – a conscious choice for both your well-being and the planet. It's also delicious – a dark meat with a rich flavour and a texture like beef, a hugely versatile option that can be enjoyed in various dishes.

Our food menu draws inspiration from South Africa's vibrant history, offering bold flavours and unique meats that transport you to the Rainbow Nation. From frikadelle to smoked snoek, Karoo-style pulled lamb to braai broodjie croquettes, our dishes weave a tapestry of South African culinary excellence. Visit our South African restaurants in Farringdon and London Bridge to experience a true taste of South Africa!

Our ostrich steak is paired with a Nieuwe Haarlem Pinotage, 2022 from Paarl, South Africa. Named after a Dutch merchant ship that was wrecked in Table Bay in 1647, this youthful and bright Pinotage brings delicious notes of plum, chocolate and cedar, finishing with velvety tannins - the perfect complement to the robust flavours of the ostrich.

Our South African wine list – the largest in London – is packed with incredible South African wines from renowned regions such as Stellenbosch and the Bot River, where each bottle tells a story of terroir and craftsmanship. Beyond the mainstream, our selection unveils hidden treasures from smaller, harder-to-find hidden gems like wines from the enchanting Elgin Valley.

Remember that both our London Bridge restaurant and our Farringdon restaurant have their own walk-in wine cellars, and you are more than welcome to visit the cellars and explore the bottles that you may not find on our list.

Our January offer is available at both of our South African restaurants in London until 31st January – the perfect way to kick off the New Year with a unique culinary experience that won’t break the bank. January is hard enough without restrictions and cutting back on what you love! Book online and simply quote “£30 January Offer” in your booking notes.
